Take your Edison use to the next level! If you have already met Edison and you are looking at how to better engage students with the various levels of coding and engineering options, then this is the right follow up workshop. Bring a laptop and TWO Edison robots with you to learn more about EdBlocks and EdWare coding apps. There will also be a chance to explore coding with Python for those that want to jump to the highest level of coding with Edison. Then, you can engineer with Edison using the NEW EdCreate kit which allows you to build EdTank, EdDigger, EdRoboClaw, EdCrane, and EdPrinter. (https://meetedison.com/edcreate/)  The STEMAZing Kit for this workshop includes an EdCreate kit and the book Girl Code - a phenomenal book to inspire the next generation of coders and activists!

Special thanks to Tucson Electric Power for hosting this workshop. Teachers will have a chance to interact with IT (Information Technology) professionals from TEP over lunch to learn more about this STEM career path.

Audience: Teachers who have already attended a Meet Edison STEMAZing Workshop and/or have their own Edison robots for classroom use

You are expected to bring a laptop computer and TWO Edison robots with you to the workshop. If you do not yet have Edison robots for your classroom but would like to attend, please reach out to DaNel Hogan to see if you can attend.

Course Date: Monday, February 12, 2018

Time: Breakfast and check-in starts at 8:00 am. Workshop begins at 8:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm.

This workshop is part of the STEMAZing Workshop Series. The STEMAZing Project’s philosophy on teacher professional development is simple: It must be hands-on and engaging – putting the educators in the seat of the students to experience STEM lessons firsthand. It must provide the educators with the equipment and supplies they need to implement the lessons and activities in their classrooms the next day if they choose. It must be facilitated by master educators who have themselves been in the classroom.
